Das SWAG ist das gemeinsame Forschungsseminar des Instituts für Diskrete Strukturen und Symbolisches Rechnen (Universität Stuttgart), der Arbeitsbereiche Algebra und Kombinatorische algebraische Geometrie (Universität Tübingen) und des Instituts für Algebra und Zahlentheorie (Universität Ulm). Schwerpunkte sind arithmetische, torische und tropische Geometrie, Darstellungstheorie von Gruppen und algorithmische Methoden. Es findet einmal pro Semester an einem der teilnehmenden Standorten statt.

Abstract: Chow polynomials of matroids are the Hilbert series of their Chow ring. We will start with reviewing the history and the importance of these concepts. We then discuss other polynomials motivated from general poset theory and from number theorey, and show how these related concepts can be unified using ab- and cd-indices of finite bounded graded posets. This work is partially joint work with Galen Dorpalen-Barry, Elena Hoster, and Josh Maglione.
